So I had my first failure over the weekend. The squirrels completely dug up the northern lettuce I planted in my raised bed. It was really frustrating as this is the first issue I've had with squirrels in my garden. Since this is part of my personal growth journey from this project, I decided to view it as an opportunity and rearranged the planting in my garden. So now that area will be the home to the rainbow kale that I started in the aerogarden, and I've replanted the northern lettuce in a different raised bed. I am proud of myself for not giving up! it has definitely made me nervous about the rest of the seedlings I've started in the raised beds, but at this point I am looking on the bright side and celebrating the success I've already had in the garden with growing my own vegetables from seed!
