Kale and Basil are ready to transplant!

My kale and basil seedlings are finally ready to transplant into the raised beds outside. I let them spend a little extra time in the aerogarden as the weather was a bit rainy last week and I didn't want them to to suffer the same way the tomatoes did. Instead of planting these in pots and then transplanting them I am experimenting with planting them directly in the raised beds. Hopefully the evening temperatures won't be too much of a shock to their system.

GROWTH MINDSET UPDATE:

- committing to a task has been increasingly hard. I am caring for the garden well, and preparing to start more seeds as the weather gets warmer, but to be completely honest, posting on this blog regularly has been hard. My life as a professional musician and educator relies heavily on being in front of the computer and creating content for social media, and teaching about content creation. So the last thing I feel like doing at all over the past few weeks is forcing myself to sit in front of the computer any longer and contribute to this blog lol. But I have done it, managing to post at least twice a week through this entire process...

- accepting failure: the tomatoes have survived, but are pretty ragged. The rain really slowed them down, and I am hoping they will bounce back now that the weather is warmer. I spent a lot of time going down google rabbit holes the past week learning about proper water amounts for tomato and how to help them recover from too much rain.

- finding creativity outside of my art has also been hard this past week. With finals for my courses as well as graduate school and gigs returning, there is not much time for anything outside of keeping the veggies alive with regular care and hoping I can find enough time to sleep and stay healthy.
