Seeds Round 1

Some of my seeds are here! All of these seeds are from Hudson Valley Seed Company. This first group of seeds will all be sown directly in the ground as soon as the soil in the raised beds is workable, which I'm hoping will be the weekend of March 20th. I've learned that these are all cold, hardy vegetables that thrive in the cooler soil and like full sun, but not the warm temperatures. My husband and I eat quite a lot of salads, so it was important for us to have a good mix of options. I'm most excited about the wild arugula and the salad savor with it's mix of baby bok choy, mizuna, bekana and yukina savoy.

I am also going to need to learn about and purchase a trellis for the magnolia blossom snap peas. I remember growing peas as a kid in science class, but they definitely did not live very long as I had nowhere to properly grow them with a trellis. I'll post an update about that soon!
